YouTube channels for Gear you should check out.

Just thought I’d start this topic off with a list of YouTube channels I like to check out when it comes to audio gear. This is a small group of audio gearheads I’ve come to trust over the years.

1. Techmoan
https://www.youtube.com/@Techmoan

Techmoan covers a mix of new and classic equipment, although he tends to favor the classics. He has a lot of great episodes covering music formats and equipment that many of us have probably never even heard of.

2. CheapAudioMan
https://www.youtube.com/@cheapaudioman

CheapAudioMan likes to cut through a lot of the hype surrounding audiophile equipment and focus on what is actually worth buying. Even with high-end audio, most of us eventually reach a point where the differences become pretty small, and you’re often better off spending less.

3. Skylabs Audio
https://www.youtube.com/@skylabsaudio

Skylabs Audio is an actual brick-and-mortar audio store located in Iowa. The channel has a good mix of opinions, gear reviews, audio discussions, and vintage equipment.

4. DMS
https://www.youtube.com/@DMS3TV/

DMS covers a lot of different areas of audio, but it won’t take long to figure out that his biggest interest is personal audio, especially headphones. He reviews just about everything in the headphone market, and he knows his sound.

5. Old Guy HiFi
https://www.youtube.com/@OldGuyHifi

Old Guy HiFi is a true audiophile, and if he doesn’t like something, he’ll tell you. More importantly, he’ll go into detail about exactly what he doesn’t like and why.

These aren’t the only audio channels I watch, but they’re some of the ones I’ve come to trust when I’m researching gear or just want to nerd out over audio equipment.
